As part of our 100 days of patterns retrospective, we'll be sharing some project galleries featuring some favourite projects made from our patterns. Cranberry Biscotti (a free sock pattern) is my design with the most projects on Ravelry. I'm sharing a few of my favourites here, but do check out the project pages on Ravelry to see many, many more beautiful projects.

Our bulky-weight Presto yarn is a great choice for a quick and gratifying fall project, and we're really excited to announce the publication of four new patterns using this yarn.

We sent a skein of Presto each to three different indie designers at the beginning of the summer, and they've all come up with great ways to use this soft and squishy yarn. In fact, we were so inspired by their patterns that Elizabeth decided to add a design of her own to the collection!

When I was given the opportunity to review “The Beginner's Guide to Writing Knitting Patterns” by Kate Atherley I jumped at the chance.

Kate Atherley is a renowned knitting teacher, author, and technical editor. She’s currently the Managing Technical Editor for knitty.com, regularly teaches at yarn stores in Toronto, and frequently travels to teach and speak at events across North America.

 

Last (but certainly not least!) in our series of interviews with the designers from our Kith & Kin Collection is Sabrina Miller, designer of the wonderful Chili Powder Mittens.

Sabrina is a friend of ours here in Montreal and, although she does have tons of design experience from her work as a set and costume designer, I'm proud to say that this was her first-ever published knitting pattern!

I've spent far too long over the past few days looking at some of the 5000+ patterns that are discounted as part of this year's Ravelry Indie Design Gift-a-Long. One of my favourite aspects of the gift-a-long is the way the indie design community comes together to support each other and our work as indie designers. This is a time of year when many of us take time off from our "work" knitting to knit each others designs as "fun" knitting. With this in mind, I wanted to search out some hidden gems. Patterns that I think haven't received as much attention as they deserve. Enjoy!
